Puitans v.s. Rationalism

The Puritans and the Rationalist beliefs are mainly the two beliefs in today's society. The Puritans were all about God and his word, over all. If God made it, then its perfectly fine as it is and we as humans don't nees to go trying to figure out how it works. The Rationalist as you suspect are the complete opposite. They took a more open minded approach to the situation. People like Ben Franklin and Sir Issac Newton studied the enviorment and science to better understand and to make their lives a little less complicated as possible. The Rationalist were not atheist though; they believed in God, they just believed that God gave us our intelligents to figure out the elements of life as best we can.
EXAMPLE#1 Puritans- A good example of Puritan thought in todays society would be a Fundametnal church were the woman still were the long dresses every day and the men are in complete control and if you even speak of evolution or homosexuality they would curse you and tell you you are going to hell.
EXAMPLE#2 Rationalism- Their is not a religion to lean to for this belief but I would go with the liberals, they think the most rationally. Believing in peace love science and evolution they fall in that catagorie. I might even go with John Lennon himself.
